Drawing inspiration from Adrian Smith art for the Hate comic and game I really wanted to create a barbarian warrior for the event at Wacken 2019 with the Wasteland Warriors. Starting out I looked at a ton of artwork on barbarians mostly at Adrians work but also alot at concept art from the Diablo games and tried to identify character pieces and overall design that makes the outfit read as a barbarian. This usally involed a lot more muscle mass than I ahve and showing more skin than what I would be willing to share at a event.

I decided to go for the big shoulders with different sized pauldrons,a gut plate to create the heavy belt look, a back banner to increase the volume of the kit and to balance that a big skirt of tattered cloth that still shows the legs and the greaves. The mix of naked skin and armor felt key to nail the look.
